This book is short and to the point, Byler wastes no time in telling you his arguments and insights: that technology companies are part of system of dehumanization and racialization that allows for mass surveillance and internment in the name of "security" to continue in China, as well as the United States. He shows that the camps are supported by a network of people both forced and willing to participate in the money-making and power-building profits of exploiting and criminalizing minorities. While the subject matter is dark and heavy, this book is a much needed call for us to see and acknowledge the plight of the humans whose personhood has been obliterated by systematized racism.
